A place for professionals like you
COMING SOON
A new online community for professionals supporting children, young people and families affected by trauma, adversity and loss.
If your work involves supporting children, young people and families whose lives have been shaped by trauma, adversity, loss, disrupted relationships or overwhelming experiences, you'll know both the privilege and the responsibility that comes with that role.
You may be a therapist, counsellor, psychologist, social worker, educator, family support worker, foster carer, adopter, healthcare professional or another practitioner working alongside children and families.
And whilst this work is deeply meaningful, it can also be complex.
We're often encouraged to create connection, safety and belonging for others. Yet many professionals find themselves carrying the weight of this work alone.
That's why we're creating a new online community specifically for professionals who support children, young people and families.
A place to:
Connect with like-minded professionals
Reflect on the realities of the work
Explore new ideas and perspectives
Continue learning and growing
Feel part of something bigger than yourself
A place where people can come and go, contribute as much or as little as they wish, and know that they are part of a community that understands the work they do.
We're not quite ready to open the doors yet, but we'd love to keep you informed as it takes shape.
Who we are?
The community has been created by Dr Shoshanah Lyons who is a Clinical Psychologist, trauma specialist, and Founder and Director of Beacon House.
For over two decades, she has worked alongside children, families and professionals seeking to understand the impact of trauma, attachment, neurodevelopmental differences and adversity. She founded Beacon House in 2014, growing it from a single therapy room into a nationally recognised centre of excellence for trauma-informed therapy, training and resources.
What draws many people to Dr Lyons' work is not only her clinical expertise, but her passion to makes complex ideas accessible, practical and deeply human. Together with resident Beacon House artist Helen Townsend and the incredible team of specialist therapists, they has developed resources, training and conversations that have helped thousands of professionals discover new ways of understanding children, families and the impact of trauma. This new community is an opportunity to continue those conversations in a more connected, reflective and collaborative space.
Our new community is an opportunity to continue those conversations in a more connected and collaborative way. A place to learn directly from Dr Lyons and the Beacon House team, explore ideas alongside other thoughtful professionals, and be part of a community that values curiosity, reflection, compassion and hope.
